I know it is a little cheeky but I have permission to post this.
I am going to be doing the Cancer Research Race For Life in Maidstone on 7 June 2009 in order to raise money for this very worthwhile cause. I have done it 3 times before and will be doing my best to run it and get a decent time (it's 5km on a cross-country course, so not as easy as it may seem).
There are few people lucky enough to have a family or friends untouched by cancer; I lost both my parents to it and my brother suffers from a cancer-related genetic condition. This year however I will be running in memory of Dale Jacobs, a fellow Orient fan who died aged just 26 in January 2008 after a long fight against cancer.
I have a sponsorship page here Val's Race for Life page or I will be at a few City games including the next Monday night one with a paper sponsorship form.
I will not be at all offended if you do not wish to sponsor me, I know it is a personal thing and in this time of recession, things are hard enough. I will just say that every penny counts, and thanks in advance.
